Is the 2027 Ram SRT TRX Worth $99,995? An Early Buyer's Verdict
At $99,995 before destination, the SRT TRX costs more than any TRX before it, and it's only been in customer hands for a couple of weeks. Here's what that price actually buys, and what still can't be answered this early.

At $99,995 before destination, the 2027 Ram SRT TRX is the most expensive TRX Ram has ever sold, and after the $2,595 destination charge you are writing a check for $102,590 before tax, tags, or a single option box checked. Whether that is worth it depends entirely on what you are buying it for, because right now nobody, including us, can tell you how it holds up. This truck has been in customer hands for roughly two weeks. There is no reliability record, no repair-cost history, and no resale curve yet. That is not a knock on the truck. It is just the honest state of the data at launch.
Here is what the price actually buys, what it does not yet tell you, and who we think should sign for one today versus who should wait.
What $99,995 gets you
The 2027 Ram SRT TRX runs the same 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 that powered every TRX before it, but tuned to 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, a gain of 75 hp and 30 lb-ft over the 2021-2024 truck's 702 hp and 650 lb-ft. Power routes through a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic. That output bump is real and confirmed, and we break down what the extra 75 horsepower actually does to the way the truck drives in our horsepower comparison between the 702-hp and 777-hp trucks.
Production started August 3, 2026 at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan, the same plant that built every 2021-2024 TRX. This truck is also the first vehicle out under Stellantis's relaunched SRT performance division. If you have seen it written that SRT came back in January 2026, that is wrong. The division's actual return to market is this truck, on this timeline. We go through the full list of what changed between generations, and what is still unverified, in our rundown of what actually changed for 2027.
$99,995 is the base sticker. It does not include destination, and it does not include whatever the dealer in your market decides to add on top of MSRP for a truck this scarce in the first months of production. Ask before you sign anything, not after.
How that stacks against the outgoing TRX
The 2021-2024 TRX never listed anywhere near six figures new, and used values for that generation currently run well under the 2027 truck's asking price. Our live market data puts the average asking price at $69,505 for a 2021, $75,944 for a 2022, $84,930 for a 2023, and $94,560 for a 2024. The 2027 SRT TRX is averaging $110,340 across live listings, meaning even the used market is pricing it above its own MSRP right now, which is exactly what you would expect for a new performance flagship with a few months of inventory on the ground.
| Model year | Avg asking price (live listings) | Listings tracked |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 TRX | $69,505 | 341 |
| 2022 TRX | $75,944 | 521 |
| 2023 TRX | $84,930 | 226 |
| 2024 TRX | $94,560 | 266 |
| 2027 SRT TRX | $110,340 | 206 |
We are not going to hand you a dollar-per-horsepower figure for what that price jump buys, because a clean number like that hides more than it shows once you factor in inflation, content changes, and the fact the 2027 truck starts a new division with its own cost structure. If you want that comparison done properly, we walk through it in our piece on what a TRX actually costs new and used across the run.
About that 0-60 number
You will see 4.5 seconds attached to this truck online already. That figure is real, but it belongs to the 2021-2024 TRX, verified by independent testing over several years of that truck being on the road. Nobody has published an independently verified 0-60 time for the 2027 SRT TRX yet. More power, a heavier or lighter curb weight depending on what changed in the structure, and a different final tune could move that number in either direction. Until a magazine or a strapped-in reviewer runs one with a proper timing box, treat any 0-60 claim you see for the 2027 truck as a guess, including any number that gets repeated confidently enough to sound settled. We track this specifically in our piece on the confirmed time and why the new truck doesn't have one yet.
The same logic applies to towing and payload. The 2021-2024 truck's 8,100 lb max tow and 1,310 lb max payload are confirmed for that generation specifically. Do not assume those numbers carry over unchanged just because the drivetrain shares a family resemblance.
The gap that money can't buy its way past
This is the part that matters most for anyone deciding today. A truck's price at launch reflects what the manufacturer thinks it is worth. It does not reflect what three years of ownership will show you. For the 2021-2024 TRX, owners have had years to find the wear items, the supercharger service intervals, the suspension components that need attention, and the shops that do the work right. None of that exists yet for the 2027 truck. No supplier defect has shown up because there hasn't been time. No resale curve exists because nobody has sold one used yet. Anyone telling you this truck is either flawless or a lemon this early is guessing, and you should discount both opinions equally.
What "worth it" actually depends on
Three things drive whether $99,995 makes sense for you, and none of them are about horsepower.
Rarity. Live inventory currently shows 206 listings for the 2027 SRT TRX against a combined 1,354 across the 2021-2024 TRX years. If owning something scarce matters to you, that scarcity is real and immediate, not speculative.
First-model-year risk for a relaunched division. This is not just a new model year of an existing nameplate, it is the launch vehicle for SRT's return. First-year vehicles from any brand carry a wider range of outcomes than year three or four of a proven platform, because the assembly process, supplier parts, and calibration are all newer with less field time behind them. That cuts both ways. It can mean a genuinely clean sheet with problems already caught in development, or it can mean the small early-run issues that get fixed with a running change nobody advertises. You will not know which for a while.
Financing a six-figure truck. At $102,590 out the door before tax and fees, financed over 72 months even at a reasonable rate, you are looking at a payment north of $1,500 a month before insurance and any dealer add-ons. Get an actual insurance quote against your driving record before you sign, since it depends heavily on where you live and what you are trading in, and run that real number, not a guess, before you fall for the badge. Our generation page for the SRT TRX has the full spec sheet if you want to see everything the truck carries against that payment.
The conditional verdict
If you want the newest thing SRT has built, you understand you are buying into a truck with zero ownership history, and the payment does not change how you sleep at night, the 2027 SRT TRX is a reasonable buy today. You are paying for scarcity and for being first, not for a proven track record, and that is a fair trade if you know it going in.
If you want more truck for meaningfully less money and you are willing to run a known quantity, a 2023 or 2024 TRX with service records and a few years of owner-documented issues behind it is the safer dollar. Our used TRX buying guide covers exactly what to check before you hand over a deposit. And if you have not settled on the TRX platform at all, our honest comparison against the Raptor is worth reading before you commit six figures to either badge.
The short version
- The 2027 SRT TRX starts at $99,995 plus $2,595 destination, with 777 hp and 680 lb-ft from the same 6.2L supercharged HEMI, built at Sterling Heights starting August 3, 2026.
- The 4.5-second 0-60 number belongs to the 2021-2024 TRX, not the new truck. No independently verified time exists yet for 2027.
- There is no reliability, repair-cost, or resale data for this truck. That is a real limitation of buying at launch, not a hint either way.
- Buy new if scarcity and being first matter to you and the payment is comfortable. Buy a used 2023-2024 TRX if you want a proven truck for meaningfully less money.
