Separate from the Dodge question, there is a second naming mix-up worth clearing up before you shop: the 2021-2024 Ram 1500 TRX and the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX are not the same truck, and the "SRT" in the newer name is not decoration.
The original TRX ran from the 2021 through 2024 model years, built at Sterling Heights, making 702 hp. Ram did not build a 2025 or 2026 TRX. The nameplate came back for 2027 as the Ram 1500 SRT TRX, marking the relaunch of Chrysler's SRT (Street and Racing Technology) performance division, and it uses the same 6.2L supercharged HEMI bumped to 777 hp and 680 lb-ft, a 75 hp and 30 lb-ft jump over the outgoing truck. Production started in August 2026, also at Sterling Heights. Starting MSRP is $99,995 plus a $2,595 destination charge, and current live listings for the 2027 SRT TRX average around $108,600.
The 2027 truck has been in customer hands for a matter of weeks as of this writing. There is no meaningful reliability history, no long-term ownership cost data, and no failure pattern to report yet, because there has not been time for one to exist. Anyone telling you otherwise about the 2027 SRT TRX right now is guessing.
